Introduction to Pineywoods Academy

Pineywoods Community Academy is an open enrollment public charter school that opened its doors in 1998. Located at 602 South Raguet in Lufkin, Texas, Pineywoods offers a comprehensive elementary and secondary education program. The school serves students in PreKindergarten through grade 12. Designated an Early College High School by the Texas Education Agency, Pineywoods students spend part of their day at Angelina College beginning in grade 9 where they have the opportunity to take dual credit classes that allow students to earn high school and college credit at the same time. Transportation is provided for students from Pineywoods to the Angelina College campus. Students who begin the program in grade 9 have an opportunity to graduate with both a high school diploma and up to 60 college hours including an Associate Degree from Angelina College.
